Smokey Bear’s Birthday Bash

Join your Abilene Public Library during the Smokey Bear Reading Challenge as we wish a very Happy 80th Birthday to Smokey Bear! The Bear himself will be at the South Branch Library on Friday, Aug 9 at 4:00PM to celebrate and educate. Enjoy stories, activities, and games with Smokey Bear and the Texas A&M Forest Service as we learn all about how you can prevent wildfires and stay safe in the outdoors. Meet & Greet with picture opportunities to follow. You won’t want to miss out on the chance to meet Smokey Bear and bring your Challenge form to get Smokey’s signature at his birthday party! We’ll even have a birthday cake to share, though maybe not 80 candles! Safety first!
