Celebrations of the World: Palio di Provenzano

Friday, July 17th
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Abilene Public Library South Branch

Join us for the next session of Celebrations of the World, a series where kids explore global traditions through lively stories and hands-on fun. Each month, we spotlight a different festival or celebration from around the world and bring it to life through interactive read-alouds and kid friendly discussions that spark curiosity. This session is all about the Palio di Provenzano, a historic horse race held in Siena, Italy, each summer in honor of the Madonna of Provenzano. Representing different city neighborhoods, riders race bareback through the main square in a fast-paced and centuries-old tradition filled with pageantry, rivalry, and celebration. Come out and join us for our celebration at the library where kids will even get to make their own galloping horse craft. We’ll provide all the materials they’ll need.
